Hi everybody. I made a post last week (https://www.reddit.com/r/HousingUK/comments/q4k511/my_1_bedroom_flat_is_using_140_a_month_and_i_cant/) about my extortionate electric bill that I can’t pay following coming out of houselessness and a couple rough tenancies. Following up from that, my electrics blew and my landlord is supposed to be coming tomorrow to fix it. My main point is just that my landlord is a scumbag, who has cheaped out in every possible way. I don’t have adequate heating, so I’m not sure if this is condensation or a leak or something.
To start, my bathroom shares its end wall (pictured in the video) with my bedroom, but not with the wall that’s starting to have these problems. The wall that’s starting to have these problems though IS continuing on from the left wall in the bathroom though, so I feel like there could be a structural issue causing this.
Someone from the council came to evaluate the place and said my flat was just “outside walls” but the wet spots hadn’t really spread until then, so I hadn’t asked about what that might mean. I informed her that there’s a small hole of daylight I can see through in my bathroom, which shares a wall with my bathroom (I’ll attach a video, it looks demonic), but she was honestly baffled and asked me to check if it was light from my bedroom or something. I can assure you, this only happens in the day and isn’t linked to my bedroom light.
On my wall now I seem to be getting damp spots sort of in plank shapes, or maybe brick shapes? I don’t know? There’s mold at the top, but the rest I think is sort of… just wet? The patterning is throwing me off, and I don’t know if this is a leak leak, or just a cold outside wall getting damp or something.
Some of it is definitely mould, and it’s appearing real slow. I don’t understand if it’s dripping or what, and/or whether the hole in my ceiling indicates that there’s a really big leak. Or, you know, demons. I guess it could be that.
