Hi all, bought and moved into a 1bdrm basement flat about 8 months ago now. We have uncovered mould growing on our clothes over the summer and have just invested in a dehumidifier.
I have just begun to do some rearranging and have found the back of our furniture covered in mould, the walls and carpets show no sign of mould at all but everything up against a wall seems to be at risk.
How is there no sign on any other surfaces? This was a (new) conversion build too so they must have known how damp it was – have we been screwed? Are there any tips or comments anyone has, is this a manageable problem? As I mentioned we just purchased this dehumidifier but am wondering if I’m going to need to invest in something stronger or a 2nd unit?
